BRIEF OVERVIEW

Beat Bop Road brings together the jazz greats of the Be Bop era, and combines them with the best of the Beat poets in a stunning fusion of music, text and image.

Against a projected backdrop of visuals from the post war blissed-out turmoil that was 1950s and 60s America - the music of Charlie Parker, Dizzy Gillespie, Bud Powell, Thelonius Monk and the other jazz greats combine with the words of Kerouac, Synder, Kaufman and Ferlinghetti. In the sure hands of some of our finest actors (Kerry Armstrong, Lex Marinos and others) the spoken word is woven through this improvised musical fabric, held together by the virtuosic Adrian Cunningham Quartet.

It is sheer joy to watch the performers delight in this brilliant evocation of Be Bop and the Beat Generation.
