Kissing Frogs has pioneered a new genre in Australian theatre, breaking traditional conventions and exploring new ways of story telling. Here is an unlikely yet enchanting love story. Jeff, a sweet but strange country boy, falls for Gloria, a cynical but scintillating nightclub singer. Romance meets ideology for a blind date in the city – it was always going to end in tears. Various characters weave themselves into the play to provide a commentary on the couple’s progress, unlocking some of the hilarious aspects about the divisions and bonds between rural and urban communities, between groups and cultures, and of course between different varieties of frogs!
